This water-soluble gel component has been used to revitalize damaged hair and split ends by applying it to hair directly, mixed with egg yolk for dry hair. Massaging the scalp with it prior to shampoo has also been known to be effective for preventing dandruff. Apart from its uses for hair, it is also used as skin softening lotion, lip balm to prevent chapped lips, and as a revitalizer for those in frail health.
